Accountant – Corporate & Development Finance

About the role

The Accountant will support financial reporting, corporate accounting, and overall accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information for corporate entities and development operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and recurring/non‑recurring journal entries, including intercompany and consolidation adjustments.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure completeness of financial records.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow projections, and monitor project costs and commitments.
• Analyze financial reports, identify key variances and trends, and provide management reporting for strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee invoice discrepancy resolution, accounts payable processing, cheque runs, electronic payments, and treasury‑related activities.
• Manage cash balances, bank reconciliations, short‑term cash‑flow planning, and support treasury functions.
• Ensure accounting processes comply with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls; maintain organized financial records.
• Support audit requests, prepare tax working papers, HST filings, and assist with external audits and year‑end financial statements.
• Maintain intercompany accounts, assist with consolidation processes, and manage fixed‑asset records and depreciation schedules.

Required profile

• Experience with month‑end close, journal entries, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow analysis.
• Knowledge of internal controls, accounting standards, and audit support.
• Ability to collaborate with finance, development, and management teams.
