Accountant – Construction Projects in Ontario

About the role

Join Northern Industrial Construction Ltd. as an Accountant supporting construction projects across the Canadian Arctic. You will work closely with leadership, operations, and field teams to ensure accurate financial management and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, process invoices, checks, deposits, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable, credit‑card reconciliation, and petty‑cash management.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, contract analysis, and work‑in‑progress reports.
• Coordinate quarterly management reports and year‑end financial statements with external accountants.
• Manage subcontract accounts, process subcontract payables, and finalize documentation.
• Handle project billing, cost coding, accruals, and accounts receivable.
• Administer payroll, deductions, T4 statements, and pension contributions.
• Support tax preparation and compliance.

Required profile

• Strong accounting and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in project accounting, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and uphold accounting policies.
