Academic Manager

About the role

The Academic Manager at the Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation (OIHI) leads the daily operation of academic programmes on a fully on‑campus basis. Reporting to the Associate Dean, this senior‑level position ensures that all programmes meet the highest standards of academic quality and regulatory compliance while fostering student success.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day academic operations and ensure programmes are delivered according to approved schedules, curriculum, and policies.
• Maintain a strong on‑campus presence, providing timely support to students, faculty, and Program Leads.
• Monitor operational efficiency, identify issues, and implement practical solutions.
• Manage Program Leads, supervise faculty, and coordinate with scheduling and other departments for effective course planning.
• Resolve routine operational matters and escalate significant concerns to the Associate Dean.
• Provide instructional coverage when required to maintain continuity of programme delivery.
• Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic or educational setting.
• Ability to bridge academic strategy with daily operational execution.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for Ontario career colleges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
