Academic Manager – Higher Education

About the role

The Academic Manager at the Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation (OIHI) is a full‑time, on‑campus leadership position. Reporting to the Associate Dean, the role ensures that OIHI’s academic programs are delivered with excellence, regulatory compliance, and a strong focus on student success.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day academic operations and delivery of OIHI programs.
• Maintain a strong on‑campus presence, providing timely support to students, faculty, and Program Leads.
• Ensure programs and courses follow approved schedules, curriculum requirements, institutional policies, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor academic operations, identify inefficiencies, and implement practical solutions.
• Manage Program Leads, ensuring consistent and effective program delivery.
• Coordinate with Scheduling and other departments to support faculty and course scheduling.
• Resolve operational issues and escalate significant matters to the Associate Dean as needed.
• Provide instructional coverage when required to maintain continuity of program delivery.
• Supervise and support faculty, including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership experience in academic program management.
• Ability to supervise and support faculty and Program Leads.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance for Ontario career colleges.
