Water Transfer Technician (Temporary)

About the role

Sideworx Connect is seeking experienced Water Transfer Technicians for short‑term, seasonal assignments in the oil and gas sector. You will be responsible for moving water safely from source to site, ensuring reliable delivery under demanding field conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate pumps, crew trucks, filtration units and equipment trailers for water transfer.
• Perform routine equipment inspections to confirm proper working order.
• Rig in and rig out water‑transfer or lease operations.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and client‑provided regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years water‑transfer experience and 5 years in a related oil‑field role.
• Proof of $5 million liability insurance and a valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Current certifications in First Aid, H2S Alive and CSO (TDG & WHMIS) – provided by the employer.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pumps and flow dynamics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safe environment.
• Pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.

• Pump operation and flow‑control.
• Equipment inspection and maintenance.
• Rigging water‑transfer operations.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of flow dynamics.
• Use of impact driver, sledgehammer and truck radio.
• Operation of a 4×4 truck with slip tank and transfer pump/hose.
