VP of Finance & Controller

About the role

Jetson is building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company and needs a senior finance leader to create a robust accounting and financial operations backbone. Reporting to the CFO, the VP & Controller will own controllership across US and Canadian entities and ensure clean, fast financial close while supporting rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own the consolidated monthly close for US and Canadian entities and accelerate the cadence.
• Hire, lead, and develop the accounting team into a functional organization with clear ownership.
• Produce US GAAP financial statements, board packages, and investor materials in partnership with the CFO.
• Manage technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity, and consumer‑financing transactions.
• Build and maintain internal controls and prepare for external audit readiness.
• Oversee relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
• Define tax strategy and ensure compliance across US federal, state, and Canadian jurisdictions.
• Lead the financial systems roadmap, including NetSuite optimization and integrations.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning.
• Support fundraising, M&A, and strategic diligence alongside the CFO.
• Manage treasury, cash management, and working capital across entities.

Required profile

• 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• Significant experience as a Controller or in a comparable senior finance role.
• Proven ability to build and scale accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Canadian accounting standards.
• Experience with external audit processes and tax compliance.
• Track record of partnering with CFOs on fundraising and strategic initiatives.
