Vision Zero Technician – Road Safety

About the role

The Vision Zero Technician supports Windsor’s Road Safety initiatives by collecting and analysing traffic data, investigating complaints, and recommending improvements that align with the Vision Zero Road Safety Plan. This role works closely with the Manager of Road Safety and various internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, and maintain traffic and collision data for Vision Zero projects.
• Prepare work orders for safety improvements such as signs, pavement markings, and traffic calming measures.
• Use specialised traffic engineering software to evaluate traffic patterns and safety conditions.
• Investigate public and agency concerns related to traffic safety and propose actionable solutions.
• Draft technical reports, by‑law amendments, and Council submissions for road‑safety projects.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to advance Vision Zero goals.
• Engage in community outreach and education to promote road‑safety awareness.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience handling traffic and collision data.
• Excellent written communication skills for report preparation and Council submissions.
• Ability to conduct site visits and assess safety hazards.
• Commitment to occupational health and safety practices.
