Trainer – Mobile Equipment Operations

About the role

Baffinland is seeking an experienced Trainer to deliver high‑quality operator and site‑based training at the Mary River Mine. You will work closely with the Training Supervisor to ensure operators are competent, equipment utilization is maximized, and production goals are met safely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom, simulator, and field training for all mobile equipment operators.
• Mentor department coaches and evaluate employee performance on equipment operation.
• Maintain accurate training records, produce reports, and deliver feedback to managers.
• Collaborate with departments to align training with production targets.
• Facilitate internal programs to improve technical knowledge, soft‑skills, and policy compliance.
• Act as a safety leader, participating in hazard identification, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience in mining, construction, road work, or quarry operations.
• Relevant safety certifications such as Fall Protection and Confined Space Entry.
• Train‑the‑Trainer certification.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• WSCC Supervisor certification.
• Tractor‑Trailer Class 1 endorsement; Air Brake endorsement preferred.
