Tax Specialist

About the role

Dumas Contracting Ltd, a leading full‑service mining contractor, is seeking a detail‑oriented Tax Specialist to join its Finance team in Toronto. You will support tax strategy, compliance and reporting for a fast‑growing organization operating across the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file all corporate tax compliance returns.
• Assist with tax audits and respond to tax authority correspondence.
• Provide tax advice to management and maintain timely, reliable tax information.
• Collaborate with the Tax Director to define and develop the company’s overall tax strategy.
• Manage tax aspects for the organization and guide a tax specialist based in Mexico.
• Identify and implement improvements to tax compliance processes.

Required profile

• CPA or equivalent tax certification (e.g., in‑depth tax certificate – Level 1 or 2).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate tax.
• Familiarity with preparing tax notes for consolidated financial statements.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and effective time management.

Required skills

• Tax compliance software.
• Big data systems for tax analysis.
• Audit support techniques.
