System Administrator

About the role

As a System Administrator at Haivision, you will ensure the smooth operation of our IT environment in Montreal. You will provide first‑line technical support, troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues, and help maintain the reliability of Windows, macOS and Linux platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to support requests via phone, email or ticketing system and resolve end‑user issues.
• Administer Windows, macOS and Linux systems, including user account creation, software installation and equipment setup.
• Monitor network and server performance, identify potential problems and work with senior staff to implement improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions and system changes.
• Create and update knowledge‑base articles for common issues.
• Assist with equipment shipment, purchasing and retrieval.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in IT system administration or a related bachelor’s degree.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Administration of Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• User account management and software deployment.
• Basic network protocol knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Experience with ticketing systems and hardware support.
