Supervisor, Plant Production

About the role

The Supervisor, Plant Production leads the day‑to‑day operations of a Ball packaging facility, ensuring a safe, high‑quality, and efficient production environment. Reporting to plant management, this role acts as the primary point of contact for the production crew during assigned shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure work environment by correcting unsafe conditions, leading monthly safety meetings, conducting inspections, and investigating incidents.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the food‑safety system.
• Ensure process quality aligns with Ball Packaging Operations standards.
• Facilitate plant operations during designated periods, overseeing production, spoilage, and maintenance records.
• Manage staff performance, training, attendance, evaluations, and scheduling of vacations, overtime, and job assignments.
• Communicate information between crew operations and management, and maintain accurate computer‑based records.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the assigned area.
• Maintain positive labor relations with any local bargaining unit and support D&I department storeroom and preventive‑maintenance functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising plant or manufacturing production teams.
• Strong knowledge of safety, food‑safety, and quality standards in a production setting.
• Ability to train, develop, and evaluate personnel.
• Excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills.
• Effective communication and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Capability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
