Subcontracts Coordinator

About the role

The Subcontracts Coordinator will oversee all contractual aspects of rail construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms, legislation, and project requirements. Working closely with the Subcontracts Manager and cross‑functional teams, the role mitigates risk, manages claims, and supports successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer subcontracts, supplier and consultant agreements in line with project requirements.
• Interpret contract documents and guide teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications, schedules and regulations.
• Manage change orders, variations and contract modifications, including pricing and schedule impacts.
• Support preparation, evaluation and negotiation of claims, disputes and time extensions.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Monitor contractor performance and key performance indicators.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, scheduling, cost control and procurement teams.
• Maintain accurate contract files, correspondence and registers.

Required profile

• Experience in contract administration for construction or rail projects.
• Strong knowledge of applicable legislation and contract law.
• Ability to lead a small team of contract administrators.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication with project managers, procurement and technical teams.
