Station Construction Manager

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Station Construction Manager to lead the safe and efficient delivery of station works on the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension in Ontario. The role oversees all construction phases of complex rail transit stations within a design‑build/P3 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage station construction from mobilization through handover, coordinating civil, structural, architectural, MEP and vertical transportation scopes.
• Ensure daily field operations comply with approved drawings, specifications and safety standards, and monitor productivity and schedule performance across multiple work fronts.
• Champion a strong safety culture, enforce TRP safety policies, and oversee QA/QC inspections, testing and deficiency management.
• Collaborate with design teams to resolve constructability issues, review shop drawings, RFIs and method statements, and manage design revisions.
• Act as primary interface with subcontractors, consultants, municipalities, utility providers and transit agencies, handling public access, traffic and pedestrian impacts.
• Provide regular progress, safety and risk reporting, identify and mitigate construction risks, and support claims avoidance.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities, ensuring completion of as‑built documentation and operational readiness.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
• 15+ years experience managing station, commercial or major infrastructure construction projects, preferably in design‑build or P3 settings.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary construction teams, manage unionized workforces and coordinate in urban, brownfield or live‑operating environments.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and stakeholder communication skills, with a solid understanding of construction sequencing, risk management and interface coordination.
