Spacecraft EMC Systems Engineer

About the role

The client seeks a senior Spacecraft EMC Systems Engineer to lead electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) concept, analysis, verification and mitigation across multiple satellite programmes. The role involves defining architecture, guiding cross‑disciplinary teams and ensuring electrically clean, reliable spacecraft ready for launch.

Key responsibilities

• Capture, allocate and trace EMC functional and performance requirements, and define shielding, grounding, antenna placement and harness segregation strategies.
• Perform whole‑spacecraft EMC analyses for radiated and conducted emissions, susceptibility, antenna coupling and shielding effectiveness, and recommend mitigation measures.
• Review DC power distribution architecture for EMC/EMI aspects, including bus lines, converters, fusing and connector materials.
• Lead EMC verification planning, test execution, data reduction and certification for component, subsystem and full‑spacecraft tests.
• Act as EMC authority in design reviews, support ICDs, and coordinate with RF, Power, Structures, Propulsion, Software and Ground Segment teams.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace or Physics (M.Sc. preferred) with 10+ years of electrical design experience on LEO/MEO/GEO missions.
• Proven experience supervising EMC engineers or leading multidisciplinary task forces.
• Strong understanding of aerospace system engineering fundamentals and hands‑on integration support.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; French is a plus.
