Single Cell Genomics & Molecular Biologist

About the role

The Steif Laboratory at UBC is seeking a highly motivated Single Cell Genomics and Molecular Biologist to support cutting‑edge cancer research. You will work on the Single‑Cell Genomics Platform, providing technical expertise to internal and external researchers across two Vancouver facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute experiments using advanced single‑cell genomics, liquid handling robotics, and next‑generation sequencing.
• Develop and optimise protocols for genome and transcriptome analysis of patient tissues.
• Provide technical guidance and support to researchers using the platform.
• Collaborate with principal investigators, industry partners, and global collaborators.
• Assist in supervising trainees and junior staff.

Required profile

• Degree in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field.
• Experience with single‑cell genomics, liquid handling robotics, or next‑generation sequencing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
