Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform

About the role

StackAdapt is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Data Platform team. You will help build and operate the infrastructure that processes terabytes of data daily, supporting both real‑time and batch analytics, machine learning, and product initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines, batch jobs, and streaming processes.
• Implement and optimise data storage solutions such as warehouses, lakes, and analytical databases.
• Develop tools and frameworks for data orchestration, ETL workflows, and big‑data processing.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to align platform capabilities with business needs.
• Ensure data systems meet quality, scalability, and cost‑efficiency requirements in cloud environments.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and system design sessions.
• Own features and projects from concept through production.

Required profile

• Strong background in software engineering, data engineering, and distributed systems at terabyte scale.
• Hands‑on experience with modern data warehouses, lakes, and compute/storage technologies.
• Proven ability to design robust ETL pipelines and real‑time streaming processes.
• Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and cloud cost optimisation.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, high‑performance production code.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and collaborative mindset.
