Senior PCB Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior PCB Design Engineer will lead the hardware design team in creating mixed‑signal (digital & RF) printed circuit boards for satellite and orbital systems. This senior position involves translating system requirements into robust PCB architectures and guiding junior engineers throughout the development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead digital/analog PCB design for space‑qualified applications and mentor junior team members.
• Translate board‑level requirements into complete design concepts, including architecture, I/Os, power estimates, FPGA and software integration.
• Perform schematic capture, layout reviews, component placement, and ensure design for manufacture and test in space environments.
• Conduct circuit simulations and analyses (SPICE, Hyperlynx, ADS, FMECA, worst‑case scenarios) and coordinate with structural, thermal, packaging, and quality teams.
• Oversee board assembly, manufacturing tests, and prepare technical documentation such as test plans and review presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience designing processor, digital, analog, high‑speed or mixed‑signal PCBs.
• Proven ability to coach and supervise junior engineers and interns.
• Experience handling multidisciplinary specifications and reviews (FPGA, software, mechanical).

Required skills

• PCB design tools and mixed‑signal design expertise.
• Simulation and analysis tools: SPICE, Hyperlynx, ADS, SiPro.
• Software: Python, Excel, MathCAD, Matlab, JIRA.
• Strong understanding of electronic circuits, communication protocols, and PCB manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, FMECA and worst‑case analysis.
