Senior Backend Engineer, AI Platform

About the role

Roofr is building the foundational AI integration layer for its CRM and related products. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will define the architecture, patterns, and agents that enable AI‑powered features across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the application‑layer foundations for AI integration, including integration patterns, agent scaffolding, and shared architecture.
• Build reliable, scalable integrations with third‑party services and APIs.
• Create data pipelines that feed AI systems, handling structured data feeds, embeddings, and retrieval infrastructure.
• Develop rigorous evaluation frameworks for AI models, including accuracy benchmarks, regression suites, and automated quality checks.
• Collaborate horizontally with engineering teams to establish shared patterns and ensure the platform meets real‑world use cases.
• Own the reliability, performance, and developer experience of the components you build.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of backend software development experience.
• Hands‑on production experience building AI‑powered systems, such as agents, integrations, or LLM‑driven features.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs and agent frameworks (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, LangChain).
• Experience creating evaluation pipelines for LLM‑based solutions.
