School Age Educator – Split Shift (30 hrs/week)

About the role

Join Compass Early Learning and Care as a School Age Educator in the CELC North Cavan program. You will work with children before and after school, creating engaging, play‑based learning experiences while supporting families and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead interest‑based, play‑based activities that promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
• Maintain active supervision while actively participating in children’s play.
• Document children’s learning progress through observation, reflection and research questions.
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy environment for all children.
• Assist children with diapering, dressing and eating habits.
• Build strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
• Collaborate with coworkers, families and community partners to create a supportive environment.
• Participate in team meetings, professional learning and staff training opportunities.
• Perform housekeeping duties within the program.
• Follow CELC, CCEYA and Ministry of Education policies and procedures.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience working with children and youth.
• Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
• Valid certifications: Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, and up‑to‑date immunization records.
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or currently pursuing an ECE diploma, or holding an alternative childcare designation approved by the Director.
