Restaurant Manager – Japanese Cuisine

About the role

The Restaurant Manager will lead the daily operations of Sushi Umi, a Japanese cuisine restaurant in North Vancouver. You will be responsible for maintaining profitability, ensuring high-quality service, and overseeing a team of 5‑10 staff members.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and develop budgets for food, ingredients, alcohol, and supplies.
• Monitor revenues, labour costs and adjust menu pricing accordingly.
• Plan, organize and supervise daily restaurant operations.
• Recruit, schedule, train and evaluate staff performance.
• Maintain inventory and negotiate with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Handle customer complaints and provide excellent service.
• Participate in marketing initiatives and implement operational procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in Japanese cuisine.
• College or CEGEP education.
• Proven ability to supervise a team of 5‑10 employees.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control and inventory management.
• Availability to work evenings, days, weekends and shifts.
