Registered Nurse – Geriatric & Palliative Care

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide holistic nursing care to residents with gerontological, chronic, palliative and complex needs at our facility. The role involves delivering safe, person‑centred care in collaboration with residents, families and the interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Report any suspicion of resident abuse to the DOC/CCC or Manager immediately.
• Develop, implement, evaluate and document individualized care plans in line with nursing standards.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including catheter insertion and removal, dressing changes, and stoma care.
• Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, respiration, blood pressure) and report changes in resident condition.
• Complete RAI/MDS assessments and participate in resident care conferences.
• Provide guidance to LPNs and RCAs and assist in orientation of new staff.
• Contribute to policy development and serve on committees as directed.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing or graduation from a recognized nursing program.
• Current full practising licence with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.
• Up to one year of recent related experience or equivalent combination of education and training.

Required skills

• Medication administration.
• Catheter insertion and removal.
• Sterile and non‑sterile dressing changes.
• Stoma care.
• Vital signs monitoring (temperature, respiration, blood pressure).
• RAI/MDS assessment completion.
