Quality Assurance Composite Assembly Inspector (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a temporary Quality Assurance Composite Assembly Inspector to ensure that composite parts meet strict aerospace standards. The role involves performing visual and dimensional inspections across assembly, trim, shipping, lay‑up and core processes, documenting findings and driving corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct visual inspections for surface defects such as orange peel, dust inclusions, tears, sagging, blistering and improper coverage.
• Verify potting material shelf life, tool validity, and that inserts and components are installed per drawing.
• Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
• Record non‑conformities, quarantine defective parts with red tags and prepare shipping documentation (Form Ones, C of Cs).
• Create and maintain inspection plans, procedures and inspection records.
• Lead root‑cause investigations using Rapid 5 Whys and 8D methodologies and implement corrective actions.
• Guide assembly and lay‑up technicians on acceptance criteria and inspection requirements.
• Execute inspections to meet weekly and daily KPI targets.

Required profile

• Experience inspecting composite aerospace components and familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, inspection documents and material identification sheets.
• Proven track record of documenting non‑conformities and applying corrective‑action tools (5 Whys, 8D).
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
