Officer, Corporate Security Response

About the role

The Officer, Corporate Security Response is responsible for protecting Town‑owned facilities and assets. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities, you will maintain a visible security presence, respond to alerts, and support emergency preparedness across municipal locations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as first responder to security alerts, alarms, emergencies, behavioural incidents and potentially volatile situations.
• Conduct proactive patrols and inspections of Town properties to deter criminal activity, unauthorized access, vandalism and safety hazards.
• Investigate suspicious activities, manage incident scenes, issue warnings or trespass cautions, and coordinate with emergency services and law‑enforcement agencies.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, support fire drills, lockdowns and evacuations, and oversee third‑party security providers.
• Provide security support for community events and facility operations, delivering excellent customer service and first‑aid assistance.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma in Law Enforcement, Security Management, Police Foundations, Criminology or a related field.
• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (Private Security and Investigative Services Act).
• Active CPR & First Aid certification.
• Minimum 3 years of security or by‑law enforcement experience, including at least 2 years in field response to medical emergencies, alarms and incident management.
• At least 2 years of advanced de‑escalation experience in public‑facing or high‑traffic environments.
