Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Nanowave Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead and execute mechanical projects in advanced microwave, millimeter‑wave, and opto‑electronic components and subsystems. The role involves full‑cycle product development from concept through delivery for space, aerospace, and defense applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and maintain mechanical products and support commercialization efforts.
• Define and organize product requirements, apply usability principles, and participate in technical reviews.
• Build prototypes, set up laboratory simulations, design testing procedures, conduct tests, document results, and prepare client presentations.
• Provide overall project leadership from proposal to qualified product delivery, managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects.
• Implement best‑in‑class structural and thermal design processes across the organization.
• Mentor and coach team members in electronic packaging, process development, manufacturing, and test.
• Perform mechanical design, component selection, and analysis including structural, thermal, and mechanism performance.
• Manufacture and test subsystems, assemblies, and components, and investigate failures during integration.

Required profile

• Strong systems and mechanical engineering analytical and design expertise.
• Experience in design and manufacturing for aerospace or space systems.
• Deep understanding of advanced mechanical engineering principles, theories, and techniques.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and deliver projects on schedule.
