About the role
Join a vibrant community in Wabasca as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working within an acute care and emergency room setting. You will be part of an interprofessional health‑care team delivering safe, high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centred care while respecting Indigenous culture and history.
Key responsibilities
- Provide nursing care using established nursing processes, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Deliver medication administration, patient assessments, and wound care in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and other health‑care professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in orientation, training, and mentorship programs to continuously improve clinical competence.
Required profile
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration.
- Understanding and respect for Indigenous culture, history, and health practices.
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to work part‑time (0.80 FTE) with 11.08‑hour shifts over an 8‑week cycle.
Required skills
- Proficiency in nursing documentation and patient assessment.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols.
