About the role

Join the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform as an online Latin 1 Tutor. You will work remotely, providing one‑on‑one or instant tutoring sessions to middle‑school, high‑school, or college students seeking help with introductory Latin.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized instruction on Latin noun declensions, verb conjugations, and basic sentence structure.
• Guide students through parsing exercises, translation of simple passages, and vocabulary development.
• Adapt lessons to each learner’s style using paradigm charts, root analysis, and graded readings.
• Prepare students for standardized assessments and future Latin coursework.

Required profile

• Deep mastery of Latin 1 content, including cases, verb tenses, and cultural context.
• Proven ability to explain complex grammatical concepts in clear, multiple ways.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
• Flexibility to set your own schedule and respond to on‑demand tutoring requests.
