Junior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

DeepCoolAI is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its remote engineering team based in Toronto. You will contribute to the design and optimisation of mechanical components for advanced liquid‑cooling products used in data centres and high‑performance computing. This full‑time position offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge cooling technologies while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and model components and assemblies for Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHx), Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and related products using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs) and manufacturing specifications.
• Perform basic thermal and fluid calculations, including heat transfer, pressure drop, airflow and pump curves.
• Support prototype builds, testing activities, data collection and reporting.
• Collaborate with electrical and control engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.
• Maintain engineering documentation, revision control and compliance records.
• Communicate with suppliers for part sourcing, fabrication and quality verification.
• Assist the Sales team with project specifications, supplier equipment reviews, RFP preparation and customer quotations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for design, manufacturability and reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and machine design.
• Experience with CAD tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with research and development processes.
• Basic knowledge of project management for engineering design.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication abilities.
• Prior exposure to thermal or liquid‑cooling systems is an asset.
• Willingness to travel up to 25 % to the United States.
