IT Program Manager IV – Hybrid, Toronto

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Program Manager IV to lead a high‑performing team of full‑stack engineers for a major North American financial institution. The role is hybrid, based in Toronto, and focuses on delivering enterprise‑grade software solutions that support a wide range of banking and wealth‑management services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of full‑stack engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, from solution design to production support.
• Contribute to software architecture, code quality, technical design reviews and implementation of key features.
• Drive technical decision‑making, manage trade‑offs, and lead investigative spikes or proof‑of‑concepts.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, compliance and operational standards.
• Lead complex, multi‑disciplinary initiatives from concept through production, partnering with Product Owners, Architects, Cybersecurity and Operations.
• Apply Agile/SAFe practices to improve predictability, delivery performance and team effectiveness using metrics such as DORA.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong record of delivering enterprise‑grade applications.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands‑on expertise in modern application development and cloud‑native engineering practices.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, regulated financial environment.
