Intermediate Structural Engineer

About the role

Design Works Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in Edmonton. The role involves leading structural design projects, collaborating across engineering disciplines, and delivering high‑quality solutions for multi‑family residential buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings using Risa3D, ETABS, SAFE and AutoCAD.
• Review and approve technical design phases to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Resolve structural disputes and maintain client satisfaction.
• Provide technical direction and on‑the‑job training to junior engineers.
• Participate in site visits, client meetings, and presentations.

Required profile

• Degree in structural engineering with 3‑5 years of professional experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with APEGA.
• Experience designing multi‑family residential steel structures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and multitask.
