Hospitalist (Acute Care Physician)

About the role

Fraser Health is seeking a Hospitalist to join the hospital medicine program at Eagle Ridge Hospital. The physician will provide acute‑care inpatient services, acting as the Most Responsible Physician for admissions and patient management.

Key responsibilities

• Admit and manage patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP).
• Provide supportive care for surgical and specialty medical patients.
• Collaborate daily with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and allied health staff.
• Coordinate discharge planning with community‑based physicians and resources.
• Work day and evening shifts on a 7‑day consecutive schedule; participate in overnight coverage proportionally to weeks worked.

Required profile

• Hospitalist experience, fellowship training, or membership in professional hospital‑medicine societies.
• Strong clinical and communication abilities with exceptional bedside manner.
• Ability to work independently with off‑site specialty support by phone.
• Familiarity with community resources and collaborative discharge processes.
• Rural medicine experience is considered an asset.
