About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team at Cilantros restaurant in Winnipeg. The role involves preparing and cooking meals, ensuring food safety, and supporting overall kitchen operations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and safety.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with Safe Food Handling standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstations.
Required profile
- At least 1 year of kitchen experience.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment, including handling loads up to 23 kg and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, good judgement, and teamwork.
- Organized and reliable with ability to manage inventory.
