About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team at Cilantros restaurant in Winnipeg. The role involves preparing and cooking meals, ensuring food safety, and supporting overall kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and safety.
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Safe Food Handling standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstations.

Required profile

  • At least 1 year of kitchen experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment, including handling loads up to 23 kg and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
  • Client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, good judgement, and teamwork.
  • Organized and reliable with ability to manage inventory.
