Full Professor (Clinical) – Gastroenterology & Hepatology

About the role

The McGill University Department of Medicine seeks a full‑time Clinician‑Scientist to join the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the McGill University Health Centre. Appointed as a Full Professor (Clinical), the incumbent will split time equally between research and advanced clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an independent, peer‑review‑funded research program focused on gastroenterology and hepatology.
• Allocate 50% of effort to research activities, including grant writing, data analysis, and mentorship of trainees.
• Provide quaternary‑level advanced therapeutic endoscopy services, including complex luminal and third‑space interventions.
• Perform endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of superficial neoplasia and other advanced procedures.
• Participate in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and fellows.

Required profile

• Established clinician‑scientist with a strong publication record and ability to secure external funding (e.g., CIHR, FRQ‑Santé).
• Experience in delivering high‑complexity endoscopic care within a tertiary/quaternary centre.
• Commitment to academic excellence in research, clinical service, and education.
