Financial Analyst

About the role

Join Sq'éwqel (Seabird Island Band) as a Financial Analyst and play a key role in supporting the financial health and sustainability of the organization. Reporting to the Comptroller, you will provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and accounting support that drives informed decision‑making across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze financial and statistical data to support organizational decision‑making.
• Prepare financial reports, summaries, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct reconciliations, cost analysis, and overhead allocations.
• Perform full‑cycle accounting for assigned programs or ventures.
• Assist with year‑end processes, audits, and financial statement preparation.
• Coordinate financial information for corporate and charitable tax filings.
• Partner with department leaders to monitor budgets and expenditures.
• Collaborate with auditors, funding agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, and processes.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented analytical finance professional with at least three years of progressive financial analysis experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and full‑cycle accounting.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
