Emergency Medicine Specialist (Full- or Part-Time)

About the role

The Brandon Regional Health Centre is seeking qualified Emergency Medicine Specialists for both full‑time (1.00 EFT) and part‑time (0.75 or 0.50 EFT) positions. The centre serves a large catch‑area in Western Manitoba, handling over 29,000 emergency visits annually, many of which are high acuity (CTAS 1‑3). This role offers the opportunity to work in a fully accredited 300‑bed hospital with strong ties to provincial trauma services and academic teaching programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population.
• Participate in trauma care coordination with the provincial trauma service.
• Contribute to teaching activities for University of Manitoba clerkships and resident training.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to hospital policies and provincial regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree with licensure (or eligibility) from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
• CCFP‑EM, FRCPC, or equivalent emergency training (must be obtained within 4 years of start date).
• Current certification in ATLS, ACLS, PALS, airway management, and procedural sedation (sedation certification within 6 months of start).
• Point‑of‑care ultrasound competency (within 2 years of start).
