Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a broad mix of cases and procedural opportunities while collaborating with specialists across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages, including assessment, resuscitation, and disposition.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate care with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the upcoming hospital redevelopment, including the new expanded emergency department.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Interest in rural practice and willingness to engage in mentorship and teaching.
• Commitment to teamwork and continuous professional development.
