Electrical Journeyperson / Electrical Apprentice

About the role

The Electrical Journeyperson / Apprentice will work under the direction of the Electrical Foreperson on industrial and large‑scale construction projects in Red Deer. This position involves installing, connecting, testing and maintaining electrical systems while adhering to safety standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Execute electrical installation work according to drawings, specifications and project schedules, including wiring, conduit, panels and equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications to ensure correct component placement.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify hazards, perform repairs and maintain compliance with electrical codes and company policies.
• Participate in daily safety meetings, site inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Required profile

• Journeypersons must hold a valid Electrician Journeyperson Trade Certificate (Red Seal is an asset) and have experience in industrial or large‑scale construction electrical work.
• Apprentices must be registered with a provincial training authority and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• All candidates need a solid understanding of construction procedures, safety practices, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s licence.
