Director of Procurement

About the role

Vention is seeking an execution‑oriented Director of Procurement to lead global supplier management and cost‑optimization initiatives for its rapidly expanding hardware platform. This senior leader will drive gross‑margin improvement, strengthen supply‑chain resiliency, and scale procurement operations as the company grows worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual cost‑reduction program in partnership with the CFO and Chief Supply Chain Officer, setting clear savings targets.
• Develop top‑down and bottom‑up cost‑reduction roadmaps for key spend categories such as fabricated metal parts, PCBAs, wire harnesses, motors, electromechanical assemblies, and logistics.
• Identify and execute levers including supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, dual‑sourcing, SKU rationalization, specification optimization, value engineering, and design‑for‑manufacturing.
• Partner with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and finance teams to embed cost competitiveness into product design and sourcing decisions.
• Build comprehensive supplier negotiation strategies using a 360‑degree performance view (pricing trends, quality, delivery, lead times, total cost of ownership).
• Develop should‑cost models for key commodities and monitor global commodity trends.

Required profile

• Deep technical understanding of manufacturing and industrial components.
• World‑class commercial negotiation capabilities.
• Proven ability to build should‑cost models and analyze commodity trends.
• Experience partnering cross‑functionally with engineering, finance, and operations.
• Hands‑on leader comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
