Director of Facilities & IT

About the role

The Victoria Airport Authority is seeking a strategic leader to oversee both the facilities infrastructure and enterprise technology environment of Victoria International Airport (YYJ). Reporting to the Vice President, Planning and Infrastructure, the Director will guide long‑term asset strategies that ensure safe, resilient, and efficient airport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute modernization roadmaps for critical systems such as passenger processing, baggage handling, building automation, and public address systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary technical teams across facilities, engineering, and IT to deliver multi‑million‑dollar projects.
• Oversee capital planning, procurement, contract and vendor governance, and business continuity initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, enterprise risk policies, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Establish performance standards, asset‑lifecycle strategies, and financial controls for the airport’s infrastructure portfolio.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large, safety‑critical infrastructure portfolios in a complex environment.
• Strong financial and commercial judgment with a track record of optimizing multi‑year budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse technical teams through large‑scale modernization projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
