About the role
The Director, Commercial Excellence will lead the global standardisation, governance and scalability of commercial deal flow across Mastercard's Commerce Media and Advertiser businesses. Reporting to the VP of Advertiser Strategic Growth, this senior leader will partner with Sales, Agency Partnerships and Publisher Commercialisation teams to design optimal deal structures that drive revenue and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Design, own and continuously improve the end‑to‑end global deal‑flow process, from intake through approval to execution.
- Scale the process worldwide by standardising contracts, approval workflows and governance frameworks.
- Establish and enforce global commercial standards to ensure consistent execution across brands and partner types.
- Drive automation and process‑improvement initiatives for commercial workflows.
- Provide operational transparency across deal models, coverage, lead management and P&L health.
- Develop playbooks and frameworks that accelerate commercial operations.
- Identify breakdowns in commercial execution and influence improvements to speed deal closure.
- Collaborate with Strategic Growth and Agency Partnerships to integrate new commercial models and pricing strategies.
- Partner with Publisher Commercialisation to align advertiser and publisher deal structures.
Required profile
- Proven experience bringing structure to complex commercial environments.
- Strong ability to translate commercial strategy into large‑scale execution.
- Demonstrated track record of designing and governing deal‑flow processes at a senior level.
- Excellent stakeholder management across sales, agency and publishing functions.
