Cybersecurity Analyst II – Network & Endpoint Security

About the role

The Cybersecurity Analyst II will design, implement, configure, automate and manage network and endpoint security solutions that meet business, security and privacy requirements. Working within the Security Operations Centre, the analyst will monitor threats, respond to vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements to protect UBC’s digital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, automate and maintain network and endpoint security tools and supporting infrastructure.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents and apply protective measures.
• Develop and update technical documentation, operational procedures, architectural and data‑flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer portfolio, IT services, academic and administrative units to coordinate security activities.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and perform work outside regular business hours when required.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in managing security solutions for networks and endpoints.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary security team.
• Strong analytical skills to assess threats and recommend appropriate controls.
• Commitment to adhere to UBC Information Security standards and policies.
