Chief Engineer – Lead Engineering Excellence in Industrial Textile Operations

About the role

Alsco Uniforms is seeking a dynamic Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations at its premier industrial textile facility in Alberta. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership to drive operational excellence, mentor a high‑performing engineering team, and ensure reliable plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a skilled engineering team through hands‑on guidance.
• Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.
• Partner with production and service teams to optimize plant‑wide operations and control spare‑parts inventory costs.
• Oversee complex industrial processing equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and boilers.
• Troubleshoot sophisticated electrical systems, especially 3‑phase 230 V configurations.
• Program, test, and maintain PLCs for optimal equipment performance.
• Ensure rigorous safety standards and regulatory compliance across the facility.

Required profile

• 5+ years of maintenance engineering experience with industrial machinery.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, particularly with 3‑phase systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming with real‑world application.
• Hands‑on experience in welding, carpentry, boiler systems, and general facility maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., boiler operations, PLC programming) may be required.
