Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker will support the upkeep of buildings, trails, roads and parking areas at the Gault Nature Reserve. Working under the Infrastructure Supervisor, you will perform routine maintenance, minor repairs and seasonal tasks on a 1‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installations, renovations, painting, carpentry and general cleaning across 21 buildings and structures.
• Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, ventilation, pump and mechanical repairs.
• Operate motorised vehicles such as tractors, trucks, all‑terrain vehicles and golf carts for material transport.
• Provide snow clearing on roads, paths and parking areas and ensure all entrances are safe.
• Maintain and restore forest trails and service roads.
• Manage inventory, recommend purchases and ensure proper storage, handling and disposal of materials.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of equipment.
• Report major repair needs to specialised service providers.

Required profile

• DEP in Building Maintenance or a related field.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work in a dynamic environment.
• Strong technical aptitude for troubleshooting basic systems.
