Bridge Engineer – Intermediate to Senior

About the role

Parsons is seeking a talented Bridge Engineer to join its Bridges and Tunnels team in Ottawa. You will support bridge rehabilitation and new design projects across the National Capital Area and Eastern Canada, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, supervise, and manage engineering deliverables for bridge rehabilitation and new design projects, ensuring client quality standards.
• Perform complex engineering tasks including calculations, analysis models, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and complete design packages.
• Provide technical services during construction, reviewing contractor submissions and responding to site queries.
• Lead inspections of existing bridges, coordinate inspection teams, develop renewal recommendations, and conduct life‑cycle cost analyses.
• Support project pursuits with budget estimates, staffing plans, and technical content for proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive bridge engineering design experience, including inspection, analysis, load‑rating, design, and construction.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligible for registration.
• Practical knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA S6) and MTO design manuals.
