Assistant Vice President, Accounting & Financial Controls

About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Accounting & Financial Controls will lead ivari’s internal control framework and oversee operational accounting, reinsurance reporting, and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this senior position ensures accurate financial reporting and supports business units with technical accounting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and enhance the ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) program, including scoping, risk assessment, control design, and remediation.
• Coordinate execution of the ICFR program and manage internal and external audit requirements.
• Provide operational accounting and reinsurance accounting support to internal stakeholders and outsourcing partners.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial deliverables, account reconciliation, and reporting processes.
• Manage quarter‑end activities across Finance, Actuarial, Corporate Tax, and Risk Management.
• Drive CFO IFRS 17 deliverables, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
• Mentor and develop finance staff, conducting performance assessments and coaching.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in finance, accounting, and internal control environments, preferably within insurance or financial services.
• Proven leadership ability to manage cross‑functional teams and complex projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills to partner with senior management and audit teams.
