Architectural Team Lead - Entitlements

About the role

MG2 is seeking an Architectural Team Lead – Entitlements to join its Client Programs Market team in Toronto. The role offers the chance to lead the feasibility, design and development of commercial retail and warehouse projects across Canada, working directly with owners and authority‑having‑jurisdiction representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Leads and manages client and project teams through all development phases from conception through design (PD, SD, DD) and construction administration.
• Directs the architectural building design process, ensuring compliance with client and AHJ expectations and quality of deliverables.
• Handles quality control of project documents and prepares submissions for client or AHJ approval.
• Collaborates with internal cost management, general contractors, and client real‑estate and construction departments on costing, scheduling and phasing.
• Negotiates scope changes and additional services with the client and oversees project financials, invoice review and collections.
• Acts as primary point of contact for client and consultant communication, presenting design intent and project status.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading architectural teams on commercial retail and warehouse projects.
• Strong client‑facing skills with daily interaction with owner representatives.
• Ability to adapt prototype designs to multiple locations and jurisdictions.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities to coordinate design staff, project managers and delivery teams.
