Architect – Multi‑Family & Mixed‑Use Design

About the role

MA+HG Architects is seeking a full‑time Architect to join its Vancouver studio. You will create innovative, context‑sensitive designs for multi‑family residential, commercial and mixed‑use projects while collaborating with a dynamic team of designers, consultants and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and schematic architectural designs that respond to site, program and community context.
• Produce detailed design, permit and construction drawings from concept through construction administration.
• Coordinate building envelope detailing and integrate technical requirements from Part 9 and Part 3 of the BC Building Code and Vancouver bylaws.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and client communications from initiation to completion.
• Lead meetings, present design solutions and liaise with consultants, trades and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture; registration with AIBC or eligibility for registration in BC.
• 5–10 years of experience designing multi‑family residential and mixed‑use buildings.
• Strong knowledge of BC Building Code (Part 9 & Part 3) and Vancouver Building Bylaws.
• Proven ability to produce construction‑ready documentation and oversee construction administration.
• Excellent organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Physical model building.
