US Immigration Attorney

About the role

We are seeking a US Immigration Attorney to join KPMG Law’s Immigration practice in Canada. The role involves handling a high‑volume portfolio of employment‑based immigration matters for corporate clients, providing strategic advice, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a large caseload of non‑immigrant (H‑1B, L‑1, TN, etc.) and immigrant (I‑140, adjustment of status, consular visa) petitions under tight deadlines.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, fostering an inclusive and high‑performing environment.
• Prepare and review responses to Requests for Evidence and ensure compliance with immigration regulations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, delivering proactive updates on law changes.
• Conduct legal research, draft advisory opinions, and use data reporting to monitor case progress.
• Stay current with developments in US immigration law and contribute to thought‑leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Law degree from an accredited institution and a license to practice in any US state or the District of Columbia.
• Demonstrated experience managing high‑volume non‑immigrant and/or immigrant cases for corporate clients.
• Knowledge of PERM labor certification and consular visa processes is preferred.
• Strong legal writing, communication, and judgment skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Experience with legal case management software.
