Underground Trainer – Health & Safety & Equipment

About the role

Join Agnico Eagle’s Training Department at the Meliadine underground mine to deliver health, safety, equipment and process training for operational staff. Reporting to the Training Supervisor, you will help ensure employees are skilled, compliant and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in daily morning meetings with the training team.
• Deliver training programs covering health & safety, equipment operation and processes.
• Plan and organize employee training sessions and evaluations in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Follow up on employee performance and coordinate meetings with department leads.
• Assist with operator evaluations, including candidate selection, class changes and promotion assessments.
• Verify, apply and develop training content in line with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Maintain training standards and update employee training records using various training platforms.

Required profile

• High School Diploma; post‑secondary education in a technical or industrial field is an asset.
• 2–5 years of experience as a trainer in an industrial setting (mining experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of industrial processes and equipment operation.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and adapt training methods to diverse learning styles.
• Train‑the‑Trainer certification is a plus.
• Fluency in English (working language at Meliadine).
