Senior Learning Consultant

About the role

The Senior Learning Consultant will partner with the OCM team, trainers, business‑unit subject matter experts and IT functional teams to design, develop, deliver and measure learning solutions for a large transformation program. The role focuses on updating learning materials and ensuring they meet both individual and organizational goals before and after training.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training needs analysis, considering audience, role, and environment.
• Provide development support and oversight for instructional designers.
• Develop training strategy, curriculum, and course catalog.
• Deliver train‑the‑trainer sessions and update materials per business‑unit requirements.
• Investigate and recommend effective training methods and procedures.
• Assist in prioritising learning needs and recommending solutions for performance issues.
• Design and implement measurement approaches to evaluate training effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in learning and training environments.
• Willingness to reside within 2 hours of, or relocate to, Toronto, ON or Calgary, AB.
• Authorization to work in Canada without employer‑based visa sponsorship.
• Strong analytical, communication and consulting skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of instructional design models such as ADDIE.
• Familiarity with e‑learning standards (SCORM, AICC).
• Project management and risk mitigation capabilities.
• Ability to develop holistic training content and evaluate its impact.
